I read the full interview and even people among Team Ninja asked why Marie Rose wasn’t included. It seems like a deliberate decision, as Sakuda said he wanted to include Elise (less popular than Marie) because she could offer another type or relationship or dynamic with the player (more mentor-like). Maybe they also wanted to keep a huge name for a sequel, since Honoka and the most popular VV girls are already there.

For the gameplay, it will be a story with different episodes. In each of them we will interact with one or several girls in different situations as the story unfolds, and we will have choices to make that will affect the outcomes (so if we do another playthrough with other choices during an episode, we should see something else). What we did in each episodes should affect the overall ending.


Not sure how much it will impact the following episodes too, but maybe we won't get some options based on the choices we made in the prior chapters. For example, if we deepen our relationships mainly with Honoka and Tamaki, then we will have to "choose" between them only, and we won't get options for the other girls. Maybe we won’t see what could have happened with them, or we will see something else.
